Hi and welcome to my website, designed and managed by a few of my friends who are helping support my plan to train full-time to accomplish my goal to make the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team next June and compete in the pole vault at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing!

Our plan is to develop the website over the next several months to keep you in stride with my developments as a professional athlete, having just completed my career as a Fighting Duck for the University of Oregon as the 2007 Pac-10 Champions!

Before speaking too much about 2008, I want to express how truly grateful I am for the education, coaching, friendships and life’s experiences I received during my four years at Oregon.

One of the best experiences of my Oregon career was the unrivaled support I received from the Eugene community and its very knowledgeable fans of track and field. I have a deep sense that my pride and respect for the University and Eugene community will be providing me with one more blessing, the chance to compete for a place on the US Olympic Team at Hayward Field, my home field!

However, without a doubt, the number one blessing Eugene has provided for me was the unbelievable good fortune to find my best friend and soul mate … and soon to be life’s partner. Amanda Sanchez and I will be married this fall. I’ll tell you more about her and our special relationship in the weeks ahead.

This is going to be a very special year for me, the University, community and State of Oregon. I also hope to make Eugene a very special experience for my fellow American ‘competitors’ in the pole vault, with whom I am very close. I can hardly wait for Amanda and me to host them here in Eugene for The Trials and, God willing, for the US Team to take me with them to Beijing.
